Independence Day 2020: know why we celebrate Independence Day?

India became independent on August 15, but we did not have our own national anthem at that time. So our great poet or writer shri Rabindranath Tagore had written 'Jana-Gana-Mana' in 1911, firstly the Jana Gana mana was written in bengali language .but jana Gana Mana became national anthem on 1950.  The date of our independence day was personally decided by Lord Mountbatten ,first viceroy of independent india as he felt this day as extremely fortunate for his tenure.

On August 15, our great freedom fighters are paid tribute and respect. By Patriotic songs and slogans on this day.  Some people celebrate the independence day festival of freedom by flying kites.  We gained independence only after many years of rebellion and on 15 August 1947 India emerged as an independent country.  On this day, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the flag of India at the Red Fort in Delhi and gave his famous speech "Trist with Destiny".
