A historic peace agreement
A historic peace agreement was signed on 13 August 2020 between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the help of US President Donald Trump. The enmity between the two countries for several years became important only with the new agreement. Under the new agreement, the two countries will now lay the new foundation of diplomatic relations with each other.
There has been a turning point in the history of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This agreement has been reached to normalise relations in both countries. US President Donald Trump has announced this historic settlement by tweeting.
First gulf country
Under this agreement, Israel has agreed to give up its claim in the West Bank area of Palestine. Simultaneously , the UAE agreed to restore full diplomatic relations with Israel. It has become the first Gulf country to do so.
What did President Trump say?
US President Donald Trump told the Oval Office that after 49 years, Israel and the United Arab Emirates will completely normalise their diplomatic relations. In a joint statement issued by the White House, the three countries say that this historic diplomatic breakthrough will advance peace in the Middle East region.
Accelerating economic growth
President Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, said in a joint statement that the opening of direct links between the two most dynamic societies and advanced economies of the Middle East will accelerate economic growth, spur technological innovation and bring people closer to the people. The relationship between will grow.
Important contribution of President Trump
US President Donald Trump has been instrumental in bringing this agreement to the final milestone. As part of the agreement, Israeli and UAE delegations will sign bilateral agreements on investment, tourism, direct flights, security, telecommunications and other issues in the coming weeks.
UAE will be the third country among Arab nations
The UAE will be the third country in the Arab nations to begin diplomatic relations with Israel. At present time, only Egypt and Jordan have diplomatic relations with Israel. Egypt entered into a peace agreement with Israel in 1979, followed by Jordan in 1994.
