The 18th Lok Sabha elections in India are to be held between April and May 2024. Voting for the Lok Sabha elections will be held in a total of seven phases (Lok Sabha Elections 2024). Election Commission announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections by 3 pm on 16 March 2024. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar along with newly appointed Election Commission Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sindhu announced the election dates.

Phase 1 is to be held on April 19, 2024, in which voting will be held on 102 seats in 21 states. Phase 2 is to be held on 26 April 2024, in which voting will be held on 88 seats in 12 states. Phase 3 is to be held on May 7, 2024, in which voting will be held on 94 seats in 13 states. Phase 4 is to be held on 13 May 2024, in which voting will be held on 96 seats in 10 states, Phase 5 is to be held on 20 May 2024, in which voting will be held on 49 seats in 8 states, while Phase 6 is to be held on 25 May 2024, In which voting will be held on 57 seats in 7 states and Phase 7 is to be held on 01 June 2024, in which voting will be held on 57 seats in 8 states.
The date of counting of votes has been kept for June 4, 2024.
The tenure of Lok Sabha is going to end on 16 June 2024.
The last Lok Sabha elections were held in April-May 2019. After the election, the National Democratic Alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the central government, with Narendra Modi remaining the Prime Minister (PM Narendra Modi).
There are 6 national parties contesting the elections, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress, Communist Party of India (CPI(M), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), National People's Party (NPP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
