Hindi Diwas


On 14 September celebrate as Hindi diwas across the country.  It was started on 14 September 1949 when the Constituent Assembly of India adopted Hindi as the official language or state language of India and in 1953 on the request of Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti, Wardha, 14 September every year as Hindi Day.  began to be celebrated.  Hindi is what unites India full of diversity in the thread of unity.   In 1910 for first time the Madhya Bharat Hindi Sahitya Samiti was formed in Indore under the inspiration of Mahatama Gandhi . On March 29, 1918, presiding over the eighth session of the committee, Gandhiji had spoken for the first time to give Hindi the status of the national language of the country.


 1. The Hindi we speak today is believed to have started from 1900 AD.  It is derived from the degeneration of the Sanskrit language.  Historians believe that the first composition in Hindi is Khuman Raso in 1000 AD.  After which the Visaldev Raso and Prithviraj Raso were composed.


 2. At the same time, Hindi language got its real identity after 1450 when Guru Nanak Dev, Raidas, Surdas and Kabir started writing poems in Hindi.  During this time Kabir's Bani, Surdas's Sursagar and Ramcharit Manas composed by Goswami Tulsidas in 1633 AD became very famous.



 3. Historians believe that the first prose in the Hindi we speak today was written by Bhartendu Harishchandra.  He is considered the father of modern Hindi.  He was a prose writer, poet, playwright, satirist and journalist.  He edited the magazines Bal Vibodhini, Harishchandra Patrika and Kavivachan Sudha.


 4. After this, Indumati written by Kishorilal Goswami in 1900 AD was the first AC composition which was completely written in Hindi Khari Boli.  Which is still taught prominently in school colleges today.



 5. Today Hindi is the third most spoken language in the world after Mandarin, English.

 


 6. So far more than 900 words of Hindi language have found place in Oxford dictionary.  Hindi words like Bapu, Achcha, Bachcha, Surya Namaskar, Bhelpuri, Chacha have been included in this dictionary.



 7. Hindi is taught in more than 30 countries of the world, teaching centers are open for it in about 100 universities.


 8. There is an island country named Fiji in the South Pacific Ocean region where Hindi has been given the status of an official language.



 9. Apart from India and Fiji, Hindi language is spoken and understood in Mauritius, Philippines, Nepal, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad, Tibet and Pakistan with some changes but Hindi is spoken and understood.


 10. In the history of Hindi language, the first literature was written by a French writer Grasim de Tassie.  At the same time, the word Namaste is the most used word in Hindi.


 


 11. Hindi language is spoken and understood by about 54 crore people worldwide.  At the same time, it is believed that 70 percent of the people of the country write, read, speak and understand Hindi in some form or the other.


 12. The first spoken Hindi film Alam Ara was screened on 14 March 1931.  The director of this film was Ardeshir Irani.



 13. Central Hindi Sansthan was established in 1963 by the Government of India for higher research in Hindi and today it has eight centers across the country.


 14. In 1918, Mahatama Gandhij had asked to create Hindi the national language within the Hindi Sahitya Sammelan.  Hindi was also called the language of the people by Gandhiji.


 15. Today is also the birthday of Rajendra Singh, who worked tirelessly towards making Hindi the official language of India.  Due to which Hindi got this success.
