Some time ago the Ministry of Human Resource Development proposed to change the name of the  Ministry of Education.  Which has been accepted in the cabinet meeting today.

The new national education policy focuses on recruitment of teachers. First, teachers will be recruited in those areas where the student-teacher ratio is low, which is deprived of education, where the rate of illiteracy is low.  Apart from this, emphasis has been laid on student-teacher ratio in this policy.  In every school, the student-teacher ratio is 30: 1 and in those schools which are in socio-economically deprived areas, the student-teacher ratio has been fixed at 25: 1.

According to the new National Education Policy, students who want to go into the field of research, they will have to do a four-year degree program and those who want to go into the field of jobs, they will have to do a three-year degree program.

Under the new national education policy, institutions can offer a two-year masters degree program if they wish.  In which the second year will be completely based on research.

Multiple entry and exit (multi-level entry and exit) system has been implemented under the new national education policy.  It consists of three and four-year UG courses and Bachelor programs.  The fourth year research is included in the four-year course.  After this, students can do one-year master's course or PhD.

The Government of India has approved the new National Education Policy after 34 years. According to this policy, the MPhil course will be closed.  Instead, students can do PhD after doing a master's degree or a four-year bachelor's degree program.

Under the new education policy, it has been assumed that all children are talented.  Under this, from the age of three years to the age of eight there will be no examination, there will be no syllabus, no book.  Now they will be taught only in sports.

Examinations will be held in class three, five and eighth also.  At the same time, the 10th and 12th board examinations will be held in the changed format.  Education will be made available in mother tongue only till class V and till eighth as far as possible.

Talking about the new education policy, School Education Secretary Anita Karwal said that there are many suggestions for changes in board examinations.  For example, to conduct these exams twice a year or to divide these exams into two parts, to get {objective type and explanatory}.  Now the main emphasis in board examinations will be on the students' knowledge test.  This will end the tendency of rote students.

It has been said in the new education policy that now students' qualification and real ability will be tested through board examinations.  Board examinations can now be conducted in two ways or divided into two parts.  Board exams can now be objective and explanatory as well.

The pressure on board examinations has been reduced in the new education policy.  Now the basis of board examinations will not be the questions written by students.  Under the new education policy, various boards will prepare viable models of examinations in future.  These models will be like annual, semester and modular board examinations.

The biggest and good news to crores of students and their parents in the new National Education Policy is that it has been announced to ease the 10th and 12th board examinations.  This will reduce the pressure on students to score more and in the future parents will also be able to get rid of coaching.

There has also been a significant discussion in the new policy regarding board exams.  It said that to reduce the importance and stress of board exams, board examinations can be conducted twice a year.  In this also, one-time examination should be kept objective and second time examination should be descriptive. Along with this, focus more on promoting boards knowledge and not just focus on promoting learning.

Under the new policy, NCERT has been given the responsibility to create a National Curricular and Pedagogical Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education (NCPFECCE) for children up to eight years old.  Not only this, children from class 6 should also be taught coding in the class because it is the skill of the 21st century.

New rules have been made in the new policy, under which the structure of school education will be changed.  The current 10 + 2 structure will be changed to 5 + 3 + 3 + 4, under which students from 3 to 18 years will be included.  In today's school structure 10 + 2, the education of children between three and six years is not counted because class 1 starts from the age of 6 years.  But in the new structure 5 + 3 + 3 + 4, Early Childhood Care and Education, part of which will become children of three years, will also be included.
